TE Nagging Injuries/Suspensions

Njoku, David - CLE

Njoku, David

Knee - Questionable

Njoku had a career season in 2023, and we'll see if he can produce at a high level once again this year. He's worth drafting as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy tight end in all leagues with a mid- to late-round pick. Njoku averaged a career-best 12.6 PPR points per game last season, but you have to look at his 2024 campaign in two parts. He was great with Joe Flacco to end the season, but Njoku struggled with Deshaun Watson, who will be the starter in 2024. Njoku scored 6.8 PPR points or less in three of five games with Watson, but he scored at least 16.4 PPR points in each of his final four games with Flacco. We're hopeful Njoku can be more productive with Watson this year, and a full season together should help. Njoku is a good tight end to wait for on Draft Day in all leagues, but don't reach for him based solely on last year's success.

HENRY, HUNTER - NE

HENRY, HUNTER

Foot - Questionable

A foot injury sidelined Henry for the final game of the 2024 regular season, but Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald relays that the tight end wasn't among the players limited at Wednesday's session. Henry, who recorded a receiving line of 66/674/2 on 97 targets in 16 games last season, is back for his fifth year with New England and is set to maintain his role as the top pass-catching option in a TE corps that also features fellow returnee Austin Hooper, who notched 45 catches in 2024.

Jordan, Brevin - HOU

Jordan, Brevin

Knee - ACL - Questionable

Jordan deserves some consideration as a late-round Fantasy sleeper. The tight end was barely a blip on the Fantasy radar as a rookie, but he did manage at least 9.0 PPR points in half of his four games with Davis Mills toward the end of the year. That hints at something that can be built upon. Chances are you won't draft Jordan unless you're in a TE-premium league and in Round 13-plus, but he's worth keeping in mind in case you need a tight end during the season.

Kolar, Charlie - BAL

Kolar, Charlie

Arm - Questionable

Kolar figures to be a backup tight end with the Ravens this season. At Iowa State, he caught at least six scores in each of his past three seasons. He's a big guy with big hands but isn't fast nor elusive, which makes him easier to defend. The only way he'll maintain Fantasy value is if he finds a role where he's getting at least six targets per game, which is very unlikely in 2022. Kolar is worth a late pick in Dynasty rookie-only drafts.

Woods, Jelani - IND

Woods, Jelani

Toe - Questionable

Jelani Woods (hamstring) at OTAs WednesdayJelani Woods was at Colts practice on Wednesday.Fantasy ImpactWoods missed all of last season due to hamstring injuries. He caught a pass from Anthony Richardson at practice on Wednesday. Woods could be a tight end to keep an eye on late in fantasy drafts with a productive camp.

ENGRAM, EVAN - DEN

ENGRAM, EVAN

Shoulder - Labrum - Questionable

Engram should be a full participant during training camp and probably will have an important role in the passing game this season if he can stay healthy. He should see a good amount of targets each game and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

HILL, TAYSOM - NO

HILL, TAYSOM

Knee - ACL - Questionable

Reports surfaced this offseason that the Saints were going to move Hill to tight end, but the team has stuck with the quarterback designation. Given that the team re-signed Jameis Winston and brought in Andy Dalton, it sure seems like Hill's quarterback duties will be very limited. Even if he's listed as a tight end, Hill still figures to be utilized like he has for the past few years as an occasional rusher and even more occasional passer and pass catcher. Only in a pinch would Hill be an acceptable option in two-QB leagues, which is why he's no better than a very late pick in that format.

MANHERTZ, CHRIS - NYG

MANHERTZ, CHRIS

Finger - Questionable

Chris Manhertz and Jaguars reach agreement on two-year deal

TE Chris Manhertz and the Jaguars have reached an agreement on a two-year, $7.25 million contract. The deal includes $4.25 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Impact

Manhertz ends up in Jacksonville, where he’ll most likely be utilized as a blocking tight end. The 28-year-old hauled in six receptions for 52 yards across 16 games for the Panthers in 2020. Manhertz has 12 receptions over 70 career games and will have no fantasy value with his new team in 2021.

Moreau, Foster - NO

Moreau, Foster

Knee - Questionable

Moreau is still recovering from the knee injury sustained in early January, so it's no surprise he'll be sidelined for the Saints' offseason activities. Since coming over from Las Vegas ahead of the 2023 season, Moreau has appeared in 32 regular-season games, recording 53 receptions for 606 yards and six touchdowns. He played 711 offensive snaps in 2024 -- the second-most of his career -- so once he returns from injury, Moreau is likely to compete for a role as one of the Saints' top vertical threats at tight end.

Stover, Cade - HOU

Wiley, Jared - KC

Wiley, Jared

Johnson, Theo - NYG

Johnson, Theo

Foot - Questionable

New York officially kicked off OTAs on Tuesday, but reporters were not allowed in attendance until Wednesday's session, in which Paul Schwartz of the New York Post spotted the second-year tight end taking part in drills without any apparent issues. A 2024 fourth-round pick, Johnson quickly emerged as the Giants' top tight end in his rookie campaign following the offseason retirement of Darren Waller. He logged 29 catches for 331 yards and one score (43 targets) across 12 regular-season appearances before a Lisfranc injury forced him to undergo surgery and spend the final five games on IR. Now healthy, Johnson will work with new quarterbacks Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart to attempt to solidify himself as a reliable receiving option behind top wideout Malik Nabers (toe).

Loveland, Colston - CHI

Loveland, Colston

Shoulder - AC Joint - Questionable

Loveland remains sidelined due to the shoulder surgery he underwent in January to address a right Type V AC Joint dislocation. The injury prevented him from working out at the combine and participating in rookie minicamp, so the next major checkpoint for Loveland's recovery will be mandatory minicamp from June 3-5, at which time he's expected to increase his participation level. All expectations remain that the rookie No. 10 overall pick will be a full-go for training camp. Once he's healthy, Loveland's draft capital and rare pass-catching ability should allow him to quickly emerge as one of Chicago's top targets, though it's difficult to project exactly how looks from Caleb Williams (wrist) will be distributed between him, DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden (undisclosed).

Swaim, Geoff - TBD

Swaim, Geoff

Concussion - Questionable

Swaim is one of several tight ends on the Titans who plays a good amount of snaps but does not produce a good amount of Fantasy points. Case in point: Swaim has five touchdowns and zero 60-yard games in seven NFL seasons. He shouldn't be expected to help you win your league.

Sullivan, Stephen - TBD

Sullivan, Stephen

Knee - Out

Until Sullivan finds meaningful playing time, Fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding him to rosters.

Fortson, Jody - TBD

Fortson, Jody

Knee - ACL - Questionable
