The Broncos are riding with Nix as their quarterback of the future, but Fantasy managers might need some time before joining the bandwagon. A five-year starter at Auburn and Oregon, Nix evolved into an efficient thrower with a low interception rate and good short-range accuracy. If Broncos coach Sean Payton could make him a more calm, patient thrower and allow him to dial up some intermediate throws, then Nix could end up being effective enough for Fantasy usage. But until we see that happen, expectations for the 24-year-old rookie should be held in check. Don't expect Nix to get drafted in typical seasonal leagues unless it's a Superflex or two-QB format, in which case he'll be a mid-round pick. In rookie-only drafts Nix would be worth a pick in late Round 2 if it's one-QB, but late Round 1 if it's Superflex or two-QB.
Daniels enters the NFL with as much Fantasy Football upside as a quarterback possibly could. He showed that upside in his final season at LSU when he threw 40 touchdown passes and ran for another 11. But this isn't just about him being older than his competition, as Daniels averaged 8.7 yards per pass attempt over 338 attempts as a 19-year-old freshman at Arizona State as well. Now he arrives in Washington with Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson to help him excel in the NFL. In redraft, we are looking for Daniels in the double-digit rounds as a high-end QB2 but it won't take too many positive camp reports before Daniels moves into the top 12 QBs. In Dynasty, Daniels is in consideration for the 1.01 in Superflex leagues, but we prefer him at 1.03 behind Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. Just know that if he hits his true ceiling, we'll probably feel silly for putting anyone in front of him.
Back in January, Courtney Cronin of ESPN reported that Williams was spotted with a cast on his right wrist while attending a USC-Wisconsin men's basketball game after undergoing a minor offseason elective procedure to remove a cyst. Since then, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has moved past the issue and appears to be practicing without limitations. As a rookie, Williams threw for 3,541 yards, with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions in 17 games, to go along with 81 carries for 489 yards. In his second season as a pro, it's reasonable to expect improvements from the USC product, with a new offensive-minded head coach at the helm, as well as a re-tooled offensive line on hand and a pair of promising young playmakers (TE Colston Loveland and WR Luther Burden) having been added to the mix via the draft.
