The Colts lost a key piece to their defense (inside linebacker Bobby Okereke) this offseason and they will be installing a new defensive system, but they return one of the NFL's elite interior defensive lines, and a healthy Shaq Leonard should be a big boost. They averaged the 15th-most Fantasy points per game in 2022 and are best left undrafted, but could be worth streaming as early as Week 2 against the Texans.
The Saints averaged the 16th-most Fantasy points per game in 2022 and focused this offseason on shoring up the middle of the defensive line, bringing in Khalen Saunders and Nathan Shepard in free agency before spending a first-round pick on Clemson product Bryan Bresee. The Saints DST is best left as streaming options for great matchups.
The Giants DST is not worth drafting in the majority of Fantasy leagues this season, but the unit does have the potential to emerge as a waiver-wire option during the year. In 2022, the Giants DST posted average stats in almost every category with 41 sacks, six interceptions, two touchdowns and allowed 358.2 yards per game and 21.7 points per game. The only area where the Giants DST excelled was in fumbles with 13, which was tied for second in the NFL. We'll see if the Giants DST can improve in 2023, and the defense has quality playmakers in Leonard Williams, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and rookie cornerback Deonte Banks.
The Titans averaged the 17th-most Fantasy Points per game in 2022 and spent very little 2023 offseason capital to improve this unit with an offense-heavy draft in Rounds 1-3. While a healthy Harold Landry could help generate more sacks, pressures and turnovers to some degree, you can do much better on draft day.
